In this video analysis, we try and showcase the importance of your training environment and why maintaining representative elements of the game during training is so critical to development. We do this by examining one of the most structured and controlled aspects of the game: zone entries off the power play break out. In spite of this being such a structured situation, we highlight how each attempt to enter the zone contains its own unique problems, and the most skilled players are the ones who possess the ability to adapt to the changing dynamics of the situation. We also incorporate different levels of play as we look at both the NCAA level and the NHL level.
